BASS, BUSCH announce new Shootout schedule Shootout will take place Oct. 30

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — BASS and Anheuser-Busch have rescheduled the 2004 Busch Shootout, which was postponed from its Sept. 18 date because of Hurricane Ivan.
The Shootout will take place Oct. 30 on a mystery lake, where 13 anglers will compete for the $100,000 winner's purse.
The 13 anglers include the pros with the heaviest single-day weights at the 10 stops of the CITGO Bassmaster Tournament Trail presented by Busch Beer (Tour and Elite 50), the heaviest single-day weight at the CITGO Bassmaster Open Championship, the CITGO BASS Federation Championship and the CITGO Bassmaster Classic.
The Tour and Elite 50 qualifiers include Kelly Jordon of Mineola, Texas (32 pounds, 2 ounces); Mark Rogers of Naples, Fla. (31-3); George Cochran of Hot Springs, Ark. (29-15); Stacy King of Reeds Springs, Mo. (28-2); David Wharton of Sam Rayburn, Texas (26-7); Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Mich. (26-3); Jason Quinn of Lake Wylie, S.C. (24-14); Bink Desaro of Boise, Idaho (24-5); Denny Brauer of Camdenton, Mo. (23-12); and Ben Matsubu of Hemphill, Texas (23-10). John Murray of Phoenix, Ariz. (21-0) had the heaviest catch in the Open Championship, while Takahiro Omori of Emory, Texas (16-2) took the honors at the Classic and Thad Takes of Center Point, Iowa (14-12) qualified from the Federation Championship.
The tournament will be telecast on ESPN2 Saturday, Nov. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. ET.

Yamaha owners can cash bigger checks when they fish 2005 EverStart, BFL tournaments

We are increasing our support of the EverStart Series and Wal-Mart BFL tournaments under the FLW Outdoors banner with an increase in contingency prize money.
The EverStart Series Championship payout will increase in 2005 from $335,975 to $1 million.
The EverStart Series has grown rapidly to include five divisions with a total purse of $6.24 million in 2005. Anglers will now have the option of competing in the Central, Southeast (formerly Eastern), Northern and Western divisions as well as the new Northeast Division to qualify for the $1 million 2005 EverStart Series Championship, where the winning pro will earn as much as $140,000 and the winning co-angler will earn as much as $70,000 thanks to new contingency awards. The top pro award in 2005 includes a guaranteed payout of $50,000 cash and a Ranger boat powered by a Yamaha plus a Ranger contingency bonus of $25,000 and a Yamaha contingency bonus of $25,000, compared to a top award of $25,000 and a Ranger boat plus a $10,000 contingency bonus in 2004.
The top co-angler award in 2005 includes a guaranteed payout of $15,000 cash and a Ranger boat powered by a Yamaha plus a Ranger contingency bonus of $7,500 and a Yamaha contingency bonus of $7,500, compared to a top award of $10,000 and a Ranger boat powered by a Yamaha in 2004.
In the Pro Division, 2nd place in the 2005 championship will pay $25,000 plus $30,000 in contingency bonuses, and 3rd place will pay $18,500 plus $20,000 in contingency bonuses. In the Co-angler Division, 2nd place will pay $5,500 plus $11,000 in bonuses and 3rd place will pay $4,500 plus $6,000 in bonuses. Including bonuses, 10th place will pay $18,000 in the Pro Division and $6,000 in the Co-angler Division.
Anglers will compete for as much as $262,125 in cash and prizes during each regular-season event based on full fields. The winning pro is guaranteed $10,000 cash plus a Yamaha-powered Ranger boat. Winners who are original owners of Ranger boats are eligible for a $10,000 cash bonus for a top pro award of $60,000 in cash and prizes. Winning co-anglers are guaranteed $5,000 cash, and if they are registered Ranger owners, they will receive a new Ranger boat for a prize package of $35,000. Cash awards are presented through 60th place.
Top competitors fishing the popular Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League in 2005 will be casting for a share of $1 million in the prestigious All-American championship. Also included is the introduction of four new divisions to accommodate ever-increasing demand making it one of the most significant changes in the leagueâ€s history.
By boosting its overall purse from $6.3 million to $8.4 million for 2005, the league is offering the nationâ€s bass anglers more opportunity than ever before. BFL competitors who qualify for the 2006 All-American (during the 2005 season) will fish for a share of $1 million, with as much as $140,000 going to the winning boater, up from $100,000 in 2004.
This increase includes a guaranteed award of $100,000 plus a Ranger contingency bonus of $20,000 and a Yamaha contingency bonus of $20,000. Co-angler qualifiers also benefit from new contingency bonuses, as the winnerâ€s share at the All-American will increase from $50,000 to a potential $70,000. This includes a guaranteed award of $50,000 plus a Ranger contingency bonus of $10,000 and a Yamaha contingency bonus of $10,000.
In the Boater Division, 2nd place in the All-American pays $25,000 plus $25,000 in contingency bonuses and 3rd place pays $14,000 plus $18,000 in contingency bonuses. In the Co-angler Division, 2nd place pays $15,000 plus $6,500 in bonuses and 3rd place pays $7,000 plus $5,000 in bonuses.
